The Grandma’s Marathon which was held today was won by Philemon Kemboi, a runner native from Kenya with a total time of 2:15:44.This year, almost 7400 runners have participated in this 26.2 mile Grandma’s marathon.
First marathon at Grandma's at age 74 and the excitement he felt when she finished her 10th in Duluth 10 years ago at age 84.
"She was the true grandma and matriarch of Grandma's Marathon," Wenmark said.
It was easy for Wenmark, who lives in Deephaven, to recall high points of his magnificent running career, but when it came time to talk about his mom, who died on Easter at age 94, the words stopped in their tracks.
