Up to 200 people buried in Brazil mudslide

As many as 200 people were buried in mudslides near Rio de Janeiro after record flooding in the region, local fire chief Pedro Machado told AFP Thursday.

Rescue crews responded to the mudslides in Niteroi, a city across the bay from the state capital and part of the greater Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area.
Previously, officials said at least 150 people were killed in floods in the Rio area following the worst rains in half a century.
